Over 36,000 civilians have evacuated from Sudan's Kordofan area east of Darfur starting Saturday, as stated by the UN's migration organization.

The strategic central area between the country's Darfur areas and the Khartoum-Riverine region has over recent weeks become the recent fighting area in the two-year civil war between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary group.

Substantial Exodus Figures

An approximated 36,825 people escaped five areas in North Kordofan province between 26 October and 31 October, as reported by the International Organization for Migration.

The individuals, mainly traveling by foot, moved toward Tawila, a town to the west of El Fasher that is currently sheltering over 652,000 evacuated individuals.

Heightened Troop Concentration

Local inhabitants of North Kordofan on Monday reported a heavy surge in both RSF and army deployment across towns and villages throughout the state.

Both armed factions are contesting control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan regional capital and a critical supply and command hub that links Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have assembled at the Bara front here," said an RSF member in a recently circulated video statement.

Area Citizens Detail Protection Issues

A area citizen of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, reported that the amount of RSF vehicles had risen significantly since the group's takeover of El Fasher.

"We discontinued traveling to our farms, fearing confrontations," the local commented.

Another civilian, who asked to remain unnamed for protection purposes, also confirmed that "there has been a big increase in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the previous fortnight.

Global Warnings and Appeals

A senior UN official expressed concerns last week about "large-scale atrocities" and "race-driven revenge attacks" by RSF in Bara.

The representative alerted to patterns comparable to patterns in Darfur, where RSF fighters have been alleged to commit mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against specific ethnic communities.

The spiritual head on Sunday appealed for an immediate ceasefire and the creation of aid passageways in Sudan, stating that attacks on civilians and hindrances to humanitarian aid "are causing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's ambassador to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of carrying out war crimes in El Fasher and declared that the Sudanese government would not negotiate with the armed faction.

The representative further called on the international community to designate the group as a terrorist entity.
