Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.
Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.
An official for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.
The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
