Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
A plane carrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
