'Living a Nightmare': Relatives of Missing Teens Await News After Ski Resort Inferno

The relatives of teenagers lost after a devastating blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an excruciating wait for official news and requesting information about their children publicly.

The blaze engulfed the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Confirmed footage reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Authorities have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the victims of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and hurt another over a hundred. Authorities noted on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been identified, with the process ongoing to locate the remaining few.

In the waiting period, relatives have been posting on social media to plead for any news about their loved ones who were at the bar that evening.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

The location of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are still unconfirmed, according to an public plea from his mother.

The who lives of Lutry near Lausanne, informed a local newspaper that she had gone back to the city to check whether he was in the hospital, while his other parent did the equivalent search in Bern, but did not locate him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, an ordeal. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in intensive care. It's horrific," she said.

She continued that some of his companions had been discovered with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "There are no words; they experienced hell."

The Italian foreign ministry has indicated that six of its young people have not been located.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, his father said.

Included in that group is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, originally from Italy but now living in the UAE.

The national sporting body has stated that he is deceased, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "talented young man who embodied passion and authentic values."

His father, told media that his son was at the bar and was last in contact around midnight. An official spokesperson has indicated that a formal confirmation of his death is awaited.

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His mother told reporters that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with a group and found himself at the venue.

"Someone with him said they escaped after the fire started and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he they were separated," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his teachers said, "I remember his kindness and smile, coupled with great maturity. Often ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives full-time in the country, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to reports.

Her brother has posted an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Officials from her other nation say they are closely watching the case.
