New information has come to light regarding the tragic passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

The Alarm

A source indicates referencing a family associate, a practitioner scheduled for an session initially became concerned after not being able to enter the house. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

When she went into the home, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Following this, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently detained and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family also disputed several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

Furthermore refuted published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes descriptions of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
