Edwards along with O'Neil represent the initial candidates in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

The previous coach was dismissed on Sunday following the squad's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League season.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic associations to the team - are part of the options to be considered by the Wolves ownership.

O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a surprising appointment given he was released by Wolves in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United player is out of work meaning Wolves would not be required to provide any compensation.
