Salah Extends Regret to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.
The Incident
He was omitted from a European match after criticising the club and suggesting his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
The midfielder also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
