Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans shared sympathy for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
